Crowns

Crowns are a "tooth cap" that is placed over a tooth. They are used to rebuild strength of a tooth and are placed over the portion of the tooth that is above the gum line. It then becomes the new tooth's outer surface. Crowns can be made out of porcelain, metal , or a combination of both (porcelain-fused-to-metal).

Implants

A dental implant is a scew that is placed into the jaw, to replace a missing tooth. Dental implants can be used to support bridges and dentures, because they are teeth the can be placed to stand alone. Once the implant is screwed in, a crown is then placed on top of the tooth to create a natural looking appearance. Once the crown is placed, it is very hard to see which tooth is the implant because they are made to look like all your other teeth.

For an implant, we place a titanium screw into the bone, which then molds into the jaw as if it were the actual bone. We then place the crown on top of the screw creating a natural normal looking tooth.

Dentures

A denture is a removable devise that is put in place where teeth are no longer present in the mouth. There are two types of dentures available, a partial or a complete. A partial denture is made when there are still some natural teeth still in the mouth, while a complete denture is made where there are no natural teeth still in the mouth.

In our offices we make both complete dentures and partial dentures. We will take a series of molds of your mouth and create a denture that will fit perfectly for your mouth.

Extractions

In all of our offices we can perform extractions and difficult wisdom tooth extractions. A patient would need an extraction if their tooth has so much decay that it can not be saved. Wisdom tooth (3rd molar) extractions are usually preformed to make room for orthodontia treatment, or if they are impacted. An impacted wisdom tooth is when the tooth comes in at an angle and the jaw does not have enough room. The tooth then begins to push on the second molar tooth, causing pain and crowding.

Bridges

A dental bridge is a a false tooth, or teeth that are fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in a gap where that tooth or teeth were missing.

Braces

In all of our offices we offer orthodontia to all patients that we looking for a straighter smile. Wire braces can be used with brackets to align the teeth into a desired position. Some patients have to wear braces for a longer period of time, it just depends on how crooked their teeth are to begin with. After braces are taken off, an orthodontist will create a mold of the patients teeth for a retainer. This is to keep the patients teeth straight long after their braces are removed.

Veneers

Veneers are placed on top of the teeth and is more of a cometic procedure for patients who want straighter or whiter teeth. A veneer is a thin ceramic or resign material that is bonded to the front of the tooth.
