What Makes Johnson Family Dental Different
At Johnson Family Dental we believe in giving back to our communities. We partner with other organizations like JDRF, and offer free dental days to those people in our communities that are in need, because we truly believe that everyone deserves a healthy smile!
As of 2011, we have become official corporate sponsors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Dr. Steven Johnson’s son, Braxton, was diagnosed in 2010 with Juvenile Diabetes and ever since then, Dr. Johnson has done everything he can to give back to this cause. In 2011 alone we were able to fundraise over $15,000 dollars to be donated to JDRF.
We have two free dental days every year. Our first event of the year is called Dentistry with Love, which is often held in February. This event is held on a first come first serve basis. Patients can receive a free filling, cleaning or extraction. We also take donations on this free day for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and match what we collect.
In August we hold another free event called Little Hearts, Big Smiles. For this fun event children 1-13 can schedule a free cleaning and fluoride treatment. We love to get to know kids on a one on one basis and teach them that going to the dentist does not have to be a scary event. We also teach them how to brush and floss their teeth so they are creating good habits.
Our last event is called Cash for Candy, which is always held the week following Halloween. For this event we invite kids to come in and sell back their Halloween candy to us for $2 dollars per pound, (5-pound maximum). We in-turn donate that candy to a program called Operation Gratitude who sends it our to our troops serving over seas. In 2011 we received 653 pounds of candy from kids and companies in our areas.
