After practicing general dentistry for several years, Dr. Gegamian realized he had a passion and talent for endodontic procedures prompting him to specialize in this area of dentistry. His expertise in endodontics allows him to create specialized treatment plans for his patients while making sure they feel comfortable with their dental procedures.

Great experience. Super friendly and I was able to get in and out quickly for my cleaning today. It’s been a year since all my teeth were fixed and haven’t had a single problem.
Had a thorough and painless teeth-cleaning by Danny, who is very present, gentle and careful, as well as being very aware of where and when to go easy in areas that could be more sensitive. I never worry about him using too much force, and he often checks in with me to make sure I'm comfortable and doing OK. I really appreciate his expertise and how conscientious he is about his work.

I was referred to Johnson family dental when I suddenly felt a terrible toothache. The pain was pretty bad and I feared I would have to wait days before I was able to get relief. The lovely staff scheduled an appointment rite away. I was worried not having dental insurance would set me back, but the doctors were very understanding and truly invested in my well being. That same day I got a root canal which saved my tooth and almost instantly relieved my pain. I am so grateful for the front desk staff who helped me figure out finances and schedule appointments. Also the doctors who did the work on my teeth. And the lovely technicians who kept reassuring me that everything was ok and kept me comfortable through the whole process.

My 4 year old had her first ever dentist appointment and had a great experience. The hygienist was sweet and fun. Very kid friendly staff. She explained Mr. Thirsty and Mr. Tickler so she was not scared at all by the tools they used to clean her teeth. The Dentist lightened the mood by cracking jokes, which had our daughter in stitches. We were able to get her cleaning and xrays done in one sitting and that’s largely due to how safe and comfortable the staff made her feel. We will definitely be back!

Took me in promptly at my scheduled appointment time with a warm greeting. The new dental hygienist was friendly and took the time to briefly give a little background info. As she went along, she gave me advance notice of her procedures. The dental assistant was equally friendly and competent. Both had "soft hands"! I've been a long-term patient (almost 20 years) and I've been happy with Johnson Dental from the beginning!
I’ve had this hygienist several times and I just love him. He’s gentle, not pushy and encouraging on good tooth health practices. He lets me know what’s good and bad without condescension. If I could just remember his name I’d tell everyone to request him.

No one likes going to the dentist...it’s uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful but we all need to do it. JFD is convenient, the staff is friendly and the experience was not so bad.

Today was our first time visiting Johnson Family Dental. My daughter refused to open her mouth for her last check up at a different dental office and I wasn’t happy with the effort they made to try and make my daughter feel comfortable. I wasn’t sure how she would do with getting her teeth cleaning today..... I was blown away with how friendly the staff is here and how well my daughter did with Shakari the dental hygienist she was thorough, patient and kind! Thank you Johnson Family Dental we will definitely be back! Having a 2 year old it hard to find time to leave reviews, but I made time for this one! You guys are the BEST!!!

My experience at Johnson Family Dental has been great! The reception staff is efficient, friendly and organized. The insurance/financial team was also fantastic. The doctors and hygienists go above and beyond to ensure your experience is a pain free as possible. They were kind and compassionate and definitely did what they could to help ease any anxiety I had. They talked me through the process and provided nitrous gas to help keep my nerves at ease. You could tell that all of the staff genuinely cares about the patients. I've always hated going to the dentist and am happy I found a great spot to make this a little easier for me!

Dr. Hlavaty was excellent like always, i had my two top wisdoms removed plus a half of moler on the top as well. It literally took 20 minutes to do so. Hygienist Shakari Russell numbed me great and the assistant to the Doctor was superior as well. Great experience for me, and im like most people im scared of the dentist . Amazing experience, I went in as a first time patient. Broke my tooth Dr B was the best I totally recommend him and his staff friendly, caring definitely going back.
Unfortunately, I am a difficult patient with a bad gag reflex. They tried 3 different xray procedures, that did not work. The office manager, found me another Dentist office that could help with special patients. They did not charge me for the visit. I was impressed with what they did to accommodate me. I will return.

I love the organization of the office at La Cumbre and State in Santa Barbara. Everything runs efficiently and the people are always so friendly to the patients and to each other, continually helping each other out. My hygienist name is Crystal and I absolutely love her! I'm 55 years old and she is the best hygienist I've had in my life. She is sweet and friendly and always makes you feel good oh, she's very efficient and explains what she is doing as she's doing it. She gives you time to say a few words and removes the instruments when she asked you a question so you can answer. You'd be amazed what a little gift that is! I've been very pleased with Johnson Family Dental.

My son, whom is five met with one of the Pediatric dentist at the Santa Barbara location today. I can’t tell you how wonderful, helpful and explanatory he was to me and to my son. I was so upset finding out my son had a cavity and the dentist explained that my sons teeth were formed it made it difficult to get a toothbrush all the way down on his molars. He then explained how he would do the fillings, the best corse of action to prevent more cavity’s and made both my son and I very comfortable. Thank you to he and his wonderful hygienist.

Excellent experiences with Johnson Family Dental, including cleaning, x-rays and recent filling with Dr. Kidon. Strongly recommend their services, but the parking availability can be a little sketchy at times, especially when it's raining. Otherwise no complaints regarding their services per se and the intra-office plan for reduced cost of some services for those of us without dental insurance helps a lot. Thank you to all the staff. They are all very polite and helpful.
Easy to get an appointment quickly. The dentists are always willing to take care of the little things like filing down something that's getting on your nerves. Their work seems to be very good and I have not had to go back for problems. A bit expensive, but they always work it out with the insurance company ahead of doing any work. They are friendly and courteous and worth the extra money, especially for the convenience. I even got a free tattoo on my crown

Every time I’ve been to Johnson family dental it’s been a pleasant experience. The staff is always kind, courteous, and informative. Today I worked with Connie, for attention to detail really impressed me left me feeling completely taken care of. Not rushed but at the same time efficient. She took her time to answer all of my questions, and gave me great insight on the how to care for my teeth specifically for my needs. Looking forward to my next six-month cleaning !

I had to do a deep deep cleaning at Johnson Family Dental. The lady who performed the cleaning was fantastic. Very friendly, nice and pain free when doing the cleaning. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a dentist.

Absolutely incredible people! So gentle and so so kind. Very patient with me and my two year old. My daughter is 2 and was kinda having a hard time staying still so one of the ladies came in and brought her a bunch of toys to play with and she just had the best time, they were not only amazing with me but they were so awesome with my baby too and I couldn’t thank them enough for everything they did for us. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone. I’ll never use another dentist office. They are the go-to dentist office for me and my family. I’d also say that 5 stars doesn’t even come close to how incredible they are. I would give them a hundred stars if I could.
I am 78, with a long history. I went in on a free x-ray and teeth cleaning appointment, and was told I needed a periodontal cleaning. (I didn't really expect a free teeth cleaning, since I hadn't been to a dentist in 10 years). The experience far exceeded my expectations; the cleaning was excellent, the doctor and dental tech were highly capable, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I am very, very impressed, especially compared with other dentists in my experience.

Thanks Shakari! 4/4/2018 Shakar is the greatest. I going to see her every 3 months because I need it. My pockets are hovering at 4-6mm and she always takes the time to compare and work with me on what is getting better and what needs more work. She takes her time and is considerate. Overall things are getting better. The plan is to get rid of all the 5's and I think we can do it. Ill make another post with my progres. 7/25/18 Ok my pockets and recession has definitely stabilized. I still have a 6 pocket on my left molar but at least it's stable .We used Arrestin. Lets hope the pocket goes down. Anyways . Shakari is amazing as always . I've had atleast 8 hygienists and she's the best

I have had a very pleasant experience going to the Johnson Family Dental. It was easy to get an appointment for dental cleaning and annual check-up. I had both procedures done last week. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Danny was the dental hygienist who took the time to thoroughly clean my teeth. Dr. Hlavaty read my dental X-rays and examined the condition of my teeth. He recommended replacement of a filling that fell off. A week later, he replaced the filling. Every single one at the dental clinic was very professional - very competent and very caring. I am very pleased and satisfied with my experience as patient at the clinic.
This dental office is very professional, efficient, and friendly. Dr. Lu, Jason, Marian, and Sophie made the my cleaning & cavity filling visit a very easy experience. Another bonus is that they are open on Saturdays, which is flexible for work schedules. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic service! Every staff member here it's incredibly nice (and it feels genuine not forced) and the dentist is very knowledgeable. I went in for an unknown sore in my mouth and the dentist was able to quickly diagnose it. I highly recommend them, and I will definitely go back when I need any dental work.
